About the event
The South Sudan Agriculture Conference 2026 is the premier national platform for catalyzing partnerships, investment, and innovation across the country’s agri-food systems. Scheduled for 04-08 May 2026 in Juba, the conference is convened under the Presidential directive designating 2025 as the Year of Agriculture and is jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (MAFS) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
Under the theme “Investing in Agri-food Systems for Better Life in South Sudan,” the conference will bring together government leaders, private investors, development partners, financial institutions, researchers, civil society, and farmer organizations to unlock the country’s vast agricultural potential. The event aims to mobilize over 500 in-person participants and a wider virtual audience, creating a dynamic forum for knowledge exchange, deal-making, and policy dialogue focused on accelerating agricultural transformation and strengthening food security.
This landmark gathering will spotlight investment opportunities across crop production, livestock, fisheries, forestry, irrigation, water resources, mechanization, climate-smart agriculture, and agribusiness development. Special emphasis will be placed on private sector engagement, innovative technologies, and inclusive financing mechanisms that can boost productivity, expand markets, and enhance resilience. Youth and women’s empowerment will remain central, ensuring their meaningful participation in agricultural value chains and decision-making processes.
With high-level patronage from national leadership and participation from regional and international partners, the conference will serve as a strategic platform to align policies, strengthen public-private partnerships, and position agriculture as a cornerstone of economic growth, peacebuilding, and sustainable development in South Sudan.
